Shimano has designed the RX812 brake lever as an auxiliary brake lever for the often unexpected challenges of Gravel riding. It is mounted on the upper tops and is connected to the hydraulic brake system. 

Compatible with Shimano GRX brake systems, the levers provide greater confidence, security and control. Allowing an upright position with full brake control also helps to ease fatigue on longer escapes.
